Chiara Guidi is a co-founder, with Romeo and Claudia Castellucci, of Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio, later renamed Socìetas. She conducts research on the voice as a key to bringing out the sound and meaning of texts, and on how it becomes body, action and image. She uses her vocal technique both in creating productions for adult audiences and in developing a concept of theatre linked to childhood. Since 1981 Socìetas has comprised Romeo Castellucci, Chiara Guidi and Claudia Castellucci, who share an approach to theatre that stresses its visual, plastic and sonic elements. Within Socìetas, whose performances have been shown at major theatre festivals on all continents, Chiara Guidi pursues a personal research on spoken word and voice.
