Tomasz Kolankiewicz is a film programmer associated with a number of film festivals and TVP Kultura, Poland’s first public thematic television channel dedicated to culture. He seeks to present the widest possible spectrum of films: from all-time classics to niche genre productions. He has programmed scores of film programmes focused on Swedish and American silent classics and on the work of Federico Fellini, Ingmar Bergman, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Fritz Lang and David Lynch, and curated retrospectives of little-known film genres such as blaxploitation, Spanish horror films, films made by Hammer Productions, and many others. He also programmes a section of the Gdynia Film Festival focused on forgotten Polish sci-fi, horror, police and musical films. He writes and directs television programmes about film, including discussions, long interviews with filmmakers, film introductions, etc. His new show, Women in Film, now in production, is supported by the Polish Film Institute (PISF).
