Łukasz Kos

Łukasz Kos (born 1970) is a dramaturg, actor and director. At the age of 10, he started to write theatre plays and decided to become a director. He graduated in theatre studies (National Academy of Dramatic Art, Warsaw) and in directing (PWST National Academy of Theatre Arts, Kraków; Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing). In 1989–1992, Kos worked with Zbigniew Mich’s and Wojciech Królikiewicz’s private theatre company Kici-Koci, with whom he toured Poland. In 2000, he made his directorial debut with Dariusz Rzontkowski’s Zazum at the Dramatic Theatre, Warsaw. Łukasz Kos has directed over 40 theatre, opera and music productions. His latest directorial credits include: Robert Bolesto’s Ayrton Senna da Silva (Teatr Imka, Warsaw), Gogol’s Wij. Ukraiński horror (Viy: A Ukrainian Horror; Zagłębie Theatre, Sosnowiec), Homer’s and Alessandro Baricco’s Iliada. Wojna (The Iliad: War; Helena Modjeska Theatre, Legnica), Porozmawiajmy po niemiecku (Let’s Speak in German), based on Hanna Zach’s diary (Teatr Polonia, Warsaw), and James M. Barrie’s Piotruś Pan (Peter Pan; Teatr Nowy, Warsaw). Kos is a member of Teatro Tatro, Slovakia.
