Sophie Laly
Sophie Laly lives and works in Paris. She is a director and video artist, graduate from the Beaux-Arts. The main subject of her films is modern dance. She presents her works every year during Vidéodanse at the Centre Pompidou. She has been awarded many prizes: for the film N/Ever she won the prize of the EDNA Association and Siemens Art Program (2004); the film Pa was awarded the Nokia Paris-Rome prize (2008) and a special prize at the LGBT festival Chéries-Chéris (2012). In 2012 she obtained the Beaumarchais grant to carry out the project Après for the Nouveau Festival organized in the Centre Pompidou in 2013. Since 2008 she has collaborated with Christian Rizzo. In 2012 they created the performance néo-fiction combining dance, video art, and live music. It was premiered in Seattle (USA) and Rouen (France) during the festival Automne en Normandie.
