Paweł Miśkiewicz (born 1964, Warsaw) read theatre studies at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and graduated from the Faculty of Acting and Faculty of Directing at the PWST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków. In 1989–2001, he worked as an actor at the Helena Modrzejewska National Stary Theatre in Kraków. He made his debut as a director at the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Kraków with Truman Capote’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1994). In 2001–2004, he was Artistic Director of Polski Theatre in Wrocław. He was the originator and Artistic Director of the Eurodrama festival in Wrocław, later known as of Baz@rt, at the National Stary Theatre in Kraków. From 2008 to 2012, he was Managing Director and Artistic Director of the Dramatic Theatre in Warsaw and of the Warszawa Centralna International Theatre Festival. His most recent work in theatre includes: Kto wyciągnie kartę wisielca, kto błazna based on William Shakespeare’s King Lear at the Małopolska Garden of Arts in Kraków (2015) and Elfriede Jelinek’s The Suppliants at the National Stary Theatre in Kraków (2016). He has directed multiple graduation productions and several TV Theatre pieces. Teacher at the PWST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków. He has been recognised with many awards, including the Bohdan Korzeniewski Award, the Konrad Swinarski Award, the Grand Prix at the Bydgoszcz Pre-Premiere Festival, and Polityka's weekly magazine’s Passport Award.
