Piotr Gruszczyński (born 1965, Poland) is a theatre critic and dramaturg. In 2002 he published the book Ojcobójcy (Patricide), that has been the first analysis of the new Polish theatre. In 2007 he published a series of interviews with Krzysztof Warlikowski in the book entitled Szekspir i uzurpator (Shakespeare and the Usurper) which has been translated and published in French and Romanian). He is the co-author of the following Krzysztof Warlikowski theatre productions: (A)polonia, Tramway, The End, The African Tales by Shakespeare, Warsaw Cabaret and The French. Since 2008 he has been working as dramaturg at the Nowy Teatr in Warsaw. He also cooperates with Mariusz Treliński at his opera productions. Until the present day he has realized Boris Godunov, Orpheus and Euridice, La Traviata, Turandot, The Flying Dutchman, Manon Lescaut, Jolanta / Bluebard’s Castle. He lectures in the theatre studies department of the Theatre Academy and the SWPS University in Warsaw.
