NFM, National Forum of Music, KGHM Main Hall
The ultra-modern building of The Witold Lutosławski National Forum of Music in Wrocław (NFM) houses four concert halls, rehearsal rooms, conference office rooms and exhibition space. The concert halls are sound insulated from the outside noise and vibrations. Moreover, the concert halls have innovative systems for programming acoustics designed by the New York-based Artec Consultants Inc. (Arup Group Ltd.). Located in the heart of Wrocław, the building perfectly blends in with the space of the historic centre of the city. The architect’s inspiration for the NFM design was a musical instrument. As a hub of cultural activity, the NFM organizes the work of eleven artistic ensembles and co-ordinates eight international events. The NFM activity includes numerous educational projects and the projects of the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016.
