Magdalena Paszkiewicz

Magdalena Paszkiewicz is a dancer, choreographer, contemporary dance teacher and a senior lecturer at the Stage College of Applied Sciences in Skierniewice, Poland. She holds an MSc in physics and a PhD in economics. Paszkiewicz has been a dancer with PRO Dance Theatre since 1998. Currently, she is the group’s artistic director at Łódź Community Centre. She has directed and choreographed Borderline (2007, her directorial debut), Labour-hours, or Extreme Femininity (2009), Historie być może prawdziwe (2012), Wióry lecą! (2012) and The Maids (2013). She collaborates with Marian Glinkowski’s Teatr Kilku Osób, with whom she performed in: Words Mixed with Dreams (2010) based on Zbigniew Herbert’s poetic prose and in Orpheus (2012), a stage adaptation of Czesław Miłosz’s poem Orpheus and Eurydice and of the writings of Vergil, Herbert and Rilke. Magdalena Paszkiewicz has co-created CHOREA Theatre’s productions Vidomi (2014), The Ugly (2013) and the monodrama The Fall: PSYCHO-SOMATIC GAYm (2010). She organises choreography workshops for blind and partially sighted young people as part of ArtImpulses (2014) and Vidomi: Continuations (2015).
