Theodoros Terzopoulos is a special guest of the Theatre Olympics

Theodoros Terzopoulos, the initiator of the Theatre Olympics who co-founded the festival in 1993 in Delphi and now serves as Chairman of the International Committee of Theatre Olympics, is a special guest of the festival. The Greek director will take part in The Truth of Virtual Reality, a talk on Terzopoulos’s theatre as part of The Truth and Nothing but the Truth series to be hosted by Małgorzata Sugiera on 8 November, and in an event scheduled for 9 November, held to announce a Polish edition of The Return of Dionysus (forthcoming from the Grotowski Institute). The book, available in many European languages, describes the method of Theodoros Terzopoulos, which is commonly used as a base for actor training. Participants will include Freddy Decreus, Savvas Stroumpos, Jae Kyoung Kim and Georgios Sampatakakis.

The final week’s Main Section performances at the Theatre Olympics include: Attis Theatre’s Prometheus Bound (7–8 November) and Amor (10–11 November), both directed by Theodoros Terzopoulos. On 10 November another Main Section discussion, Something is Rotten in the Era of Faith, will be held to commemorate Heiner Müller, one of the founding members of the International Committee of Theatre Olympics. The discussion will be chaired by Frank Raddatz and attended by Jürgen Holtz, Ginka Tscholakowa, Thomas Martin and Erdmut Wizisla.
